Thoughts on a McKinsey Survey.
HR has the potential to be a great strategic partner in any business. However, according to a recent survey by McKinsey, HR is generally seen as a reactive project oriented group of managers that lack business knowledge.
It would appear that HR is not rising to meet the opportunity that has been handed to them. If this tide does not turn rapidly, HR may see more business leaders taking over their departments.
According to a McKinsey survey,
"The exhibit below focuses on another problem: the declining influence of the human-resources function. Yet only HR can translate a company's business strategy into a detailed talent strategy. HR professionals should assert their influence and provide credible and proactive business counsel and support for individual business units."
